Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known for her high-quality performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes and awards, among them the Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The talented actress began her acting career on the stage through a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. She has always had an interest in acting from the time when she was in the high school. The first time she appeared in a play in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in the one ear. However, she refused to let that hinder her progress as an actress. While in college, she studied drama and moving into New York City with her plans in mind. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The play was Hunter's first acting debut. Following her move into Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged a supporting role for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. Her career spans more than 30 years and she's appeared in many TV movies as well as series and films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
