Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighbourhood located in The West Island of Montreal is an example of a "sleepy" spot. The West Island, to those not familiar with it, is an extensive area that extends from Lachine to the west. Amanda Brugel is said to originate from the West Island. This does not exist. Brugel grew in Courtice close to Oshawa. She had a dream to become a professional dancer but because of a huge development spurt, she exceeded the size of her dancing partners. In an article in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. As I got bigger than my male counterparts, I resigned. In Brugel's case, it was the advice of an instructor in drama from her high school, which prompted her to start acting. It was her teacher who suggested she audition in the role of Anne for their school's annual production. The teacher who suggested she pursue a role in the annual school production. The show led her to receive a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. For the last two decades the career of Brugel has seen her in more than 60 shows and films. Her most notable role was the one of Rita (shown in the video below) in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian on the Season 1 cast of the show and only seen occasionally was the only Canadian.
